The calendars will make awesome gifts for all the dog lovers in your life, plus you'll show your support of CNR! 2012 Calendars -- Tuesday August 16th, 2011
Attention Cocker Nation Adopters!!! We are starting to collect pictures for our 2012 calendar. We would like you to send in pictures of your rescue dog (s) to be featured in the calendar. Below are some helpful guidelines from the printer: 1. Digital pics prefered 2. If digital prints, must be high resolution, no phone pics, and should be at least 1mgb in size. (with most cameras these days, that is not a problem) 3. Keep background simple...grass is a great background as are leaves. If taking the picture on the couch, try to have a solid color blanket or throw behind your dog. 4. If the dog is dark in color (black or chocolate) pictures taken in bright sunlight will be best. 5. Get as close to your pet as possible. Head shots are great. Capture the look in their eyes. It usually is pure love. We want to feature your pet, not your furniture. 6. If a person is in the picture...have the whole person be in it, not just a hand. 7. Have fun with the project...let your love for your pet show, Please send your pictures to hopesdoghouse@aol.com , and make sure to include your dog's name. Submissions are due by September 25, 2011. We are looking forward to seeing all of these cute cocker faces :)

Thanks to everyone who attended the rescue picnic. I love seeing how spoiled all of our adopted cockers are. This was the most attended picnic, and you are all so appreciated. Go down 99 for 5 miles and turn left on Elmer. We will have signs posted once you get off the expressway. The Rescue Review -- Wednesday March 17th, 2010
Each year the Cocker Spaniel Club holds a dog show in Kalamazoo, Michigan. the show is Saturday 3.27.10 and Sunday 3.28.10, 10 to 5. There will be a great raffle both days. This show is only for cockers and during the intermission on Saturday we incorporate our rescue dogs. Each owner is invited to participate in showing their dog around the ring. As the owner shows their rescue dog, we read about their dog’s history and what is happening in the dog’s new life. It is wonderful to see so many stories of how both the owners’ and dogs’ lives have changed. Some of the dogs attending are Bert, Walter (who was adopted so quickly he's not even on our website, Ellie, Sampson, Samosa and Sadie, Sadie, Daisy Mae, Spirit, Scout, Bailey and many others as well.
If you have the date open, we would love to see you at the Kalamazoo Kennel Club. These shows and raffle allow the Club to support the Rescue throughout the year! The Rescue Review generally begins around noon. Our involvement in the Rescue Review helps people to realize how important our rescue effort is and how special each dog is to their family. The presence of our rescue families is proof that our efforts produce happy endings.
