WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

Cocker Nation Rescue of Michigan grew out of The Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Mid-Michigan. . We are a non-profit organization dedicated to helping find homes for displaced, abused, and abandoned cocker spaniels.  Once a dog is received from the shelter or previous owner, he/she is placed in a foster home. Foster homes provide a loving environment where the cocker's needs are met.  After a period of time, an evaluation is made to determine the best placement for both the dog and the potential owner.

History

The Cocker Spaniel Rescue of Mid-Michigan was established in memory of Thomas Gallant, a long time member of Mid-Michigan Cocker Spaniel Club. He, along with his wife Nancy, developed an outstanding breeding and showing program, which produced over 47 champion and obedience titled cocker spaniels.

Tom and Nancy have assisted "new-comers" to cocker spaniels, to grow in their own expertise, and to fully ascribe to the goals of MMCSC.Tom was truly dedicated to the betterment of cocker spaniels. Through the rescue program, his love of these little dogs can be shown by giving them a second chance at a happy tail wagging life!
