aboutus

Welcome to Cocker Nation Rescue of Michigan!  We are a small Michigan non-profit organization, comprised of volunteers who are dedicated to helping find homes for displaced, abused, and abandoned cocker spaniels.  Most of the dogs in our rescue come from shelter situations where the dog may be in danger of being euthanized for lack of space.  The dogs we have for adoption are housed with foster parents who offer their homes as a temporary place for a needy animal to live until their new adoptive home can be found, thus saving animals from the fear and stress they would suffer in a normal animal shelter environment.

Once a dog is received from the shelter or previous owner, he/she is placed in a foster home. Foster homes provide a loving environment where the cocker's needs are met both emotionally and medically.  After a period of time, an evaluation is made to determine the best placement for both the dog and the potential adopter (see adoption process for specific details).  This way we hope to ensure that the formly homeless cocker spaniel is placed in a new home which will love and care for the dog for the rest of his/her life.

We are able to treat and care for our cocker spaniels by conducting fundraisers, adoption fees and most important ... donations from the public.  None of our volutneers receive a salary for all the work they do so 100% of donations received go directly to the care of our dogs.
